In the glass, this wine is described as deeply colored, with an inky core and amber-edged maturity. The nose is generous and layered, offering ripe berry and cherry fruit alongside mineral notes, savory meatiness, and a subtle peppery spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, yet rounded by velvety tannins that give the wine both presence and harmony. There is impressive ripeness and breadth, with a long, structured finish that reflects the scale of the vintage. While already mature, well-stored bottles may still offer further development, though the wine is now best enjoyed for its complexity and tertiary nuance.

Viininvalmistus
La Fleur-Pétrus is based in Pomerol on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, where the clay and gravel soils are ideally suited to Merlot, giving the wine its signature depth and plush texture. The estate has expanded over time to around 18 hectares, with plantings dominated by Merlot and supported by small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The grapes are harvested with care, and the wine is vinified under the Moueix family's direction with a focus on preserving fruit purity, structure, and site expression; since 2013, production has been carried out at nearby Château Hosanna, while part of the ageing still takes place in the historic cellar at La Fleur-Pétrus.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine to serve with rich, flavorful dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck confit, game birds, or truffle-based dishes. It also pairs beautifully with mushroom risotto and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and decant gently if the bottle is in good condition, as mature vintages can benefit from a little air, though older bottles should be handled with care.
