Château La Fleur-Pétrus 2000 is a superb Pomerol from one of Bordeaux’s most respected names, situated between the legendary vineyards of Petrus and Lafleur. Made primarily from Merlot, it combines richness, precision, and elegance in a style that reflects both the appellation’s depth and the estate’s pedigree. The 2000 vintage is especially notable for its balance and longevity, with critics praising its opulent yet refined character.
Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep plum-ruby color that hints at its concentration and maturity. The nose is layered and expressive, offering aromas of mocha, kirsch liqueur, loamy earth, spice box, and licorice.
On the palate, this is a medium- to full-bodied Pomerol with impressive substance, silky texture, and remarkable purity. It is both generous and precise, with ripe Merlot fruit wrapped in savory complexity and a polished, elegant finish. While already drinking well, it has the structure and depth to age gracefully for many more years.
Viininvalmistus
La Fleur-Pétrus comes from a distinguished Pomerol terroir on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, where Merlot thrives in the clay-and-gravel soils that give the wine its richness and finesse. The estate has expanded over time and today covers around 18 hectares, planted mainly to Merlot with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Since the 2013 harvest, vinification has taken place at the nearby Château Hosanna, while some barrel aging continues in the historic cellar at La Fleur-Pétrus.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with dishes that echo its depth and elegance, such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, truffle risotto, or game birds. It also works well with rich mushroom-based dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking now, especially to allow the wine’s layered aromatics to खुल fully.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus is part of the Moueix family’s celebrated portfolio in Bordeaux, a name closely associated with some of the Right Bank’s most prestigious estates, including Petrus and Trotanoy. Jean-Pierre Moueix acquired the property in 1953 as part of the family’s move from négociant trade into wine production, helping to shape its modern reputation. Today, the estate is regarded as one of Pomerol’s benchmark producers, admired for its consistent quality, finesse, and connection to the region’s top vineyards.
