Château Lafite Rothschild 2000

Château Lafite Rothschild 2000 is one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious wines, drawn from one of the region’s legendary First Growth estates in Pauillac. Revered for its elegance, restraint, and remarkable depth, it reflects both the stature of Château Lafite and the promise of a classic vintage that continues to evolve beautifully with age.

In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby core with youthful concentration, still retaining impressive brightness for a wine of its age. The nose is refined and layered, offering notes of blackcurrant, graphite, cedar, violets, and fine tobacco, with an underlying mineral character that is so often associated with Lafite. On the palate, the wine is structured yet polished, combining freshness, precision, and quiet power. Dark berry fruit, cassis, and savory spice are framed by firm but elegant tannins, leading to a long, resonant finish. This is a wine built for the long haul and should continue to develop nuance over many more years, rewarding patient cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
Produced in Pauillac in Bordeaux’s Médoc, Château Lafite Rothschild benefits from gravelly soils that provide excellent drainage and encourage the vines to dig deep for water and nutrients. The estate is known for meticulous vineyard work, low yields, and hand harvesting, with careful selection ensuring only the best fruit is used for the Grand Vin. Vinification is traditionally handled with great precision, followed by aging in French oak barrels to preserve finesse, structure, and aromatic purity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as roast lamb, beef fillet, venison, duck breast, or truffle-based preparations. It also pairs beautifully with mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for one to two hours is recommended, especially if the bottle has been resting in cellar conditions, to allow the wine’s full aromatic range to unfold.
