Château Lafite Rothschild 2010

Château Lafite Rothschild 2010 is one of Bordeaux’s great benchmark wines, and a standout expression of Pauillac at its most refined and age-worthy. In the glass, the wine shows a deep garnet color, still youthful in appearance for a wine of this caliber. The nose is initially reserved, then opens gradually with blackcurrant, baked plum and boysenberry, layered with violet, cedar, chocolate mint and pencil lead. The palate is full-bodied, rich and densely structured, with beautifully ripe, grainy tannins and impressive freshness. Dark fruit, graphite, cedar and mineral nuances carry through to an exceptionally long, harmonious finish. This is a wine built for patience and should continue to evolve beautifully for decades.

Viininvalmistus
Château Lafite Rothschild is situated in Pauillac in the northern Médoc, where the gravelly soils help Cabernet Sauvignon and the supporting grapes ripen with depth, finesse and structure. The estate follows traditional, meticulous viticulture with low yields, manual harvesting and extensive hand work throughout the year, while relying on limited chemical intervention and careful use of organic fertilization. The Grand Vin is sourced from old vines averaging around 45 years of age, with some plots dating back to the late 19th century.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes that can match its structure and complexity, such as filet of beef, lamb, venison, duck breast or truffle-rich preparations. It also pairs beautifully with hard, aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting is strongly recommended, especially if opened young, to allow the wine to fully unfold.

Under the Ségur family in the 17th and 18th centuries, it earned a reputation as the “King’s wine,” later becoming one of the most celebrated names in fine wine under the Rothschild family. Today, it remains one of the most prestigious producers in Bordeaux and the world, renowned for longevity, elegance and consistency at the highest level.
