Château Léoville Barton 1995

Château Léoville Barton 1995 is a classic Saint-Julien red from one of Bordeaux’s most respected names, offering the structure, depth, and refinement collectors look for in mature Left Bank wines. In the glass, this wine shows a deep garnet color with attractive brick-red edges beginning to appear with age. The nose is layered and graceful, with ripe blackberry and cassis, cedar, tobacco, vanilla, and a touch of spice, all unfolding slowly in the glass. On the palate it is full-bodied and composed, with silky tannins, firm underlying structure, and a long, polished finish that reflects both maturity and pedigree. The 1995 vintage has the profile to continue drinking well, especially for those who enjoy fully evolved Bordeaux with remaining freshness and definition. While already offering plenty of charm, its structure suggests it can hold further in the cellar, though it is now in a very rewarding window for drinking.

Château Léoville Barton is located in the heart of Saint-Julien, overlooking the Gironde, where gravel soils over clay subsoils help regulate heat and water through Bordeaux’s changing seasons. The estate’s vineyards are planted with traditional Médoc varieties, and the grapes are typically harvested parcel by parcel to preserve ripeness and site expression. Vinification follows a classic Bordeaux approach, emphasizing extraction, balance, and careful aging to produce a wine that combines power with finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game, or dishes with mushrooms and truffle, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended to allow the wine to open fully and show its aromatic complexity, especially if enjoyed relatively young for its age.
