Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep garnet color that still feels remarkably youthful for its age. The bouquet is wonderfully layered, with briary red berries, wild hedgerow notes, black truffle, sandalwood, spice, white pepper, and clove, all moving into a distinctly secondary aromatic stage without losing intensity. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and firmly structured, with grippy tannins that give the wine its classic Saint-Julien frame. The fruit is slightly earthy and animal in tone, supported by savory spice and impressive precision. This is a wine in a very good place now, but it still has the backbone to continue developing with time in bottle for those who enjoy mature Bordeaux.

Viininvalmistus
Léoville Barton comes from 50 hectares of vines in Saint-Julien, planted on gravel soils with clay subsoil, a terroir that helps regulate temperature and drainage while supporting balanced ripening. The vineyard includes a notable proportion of older vines and is planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and a small amount of Cabernet Franc, reflecting the traditional Médoc model. Harvesting and vinification are carried out with the goal of preserving the château’s classic, firm and precise style.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, venison, duck breast, or slow-cooked dishes with herbs and mushrooms. It is best served at around 16–18°C, and a brief decant of about one hour is recommended to allow the aromas to open without losing its mature freshness.

Château Léoville Barton has been owned by the Barton family since the 1820s and remains one of the rare classified growths still in the same family hands today. Classified as a 2ème Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it is now led by Lilian Barton, the ninth generation of the family, and is regarded as one of Saint-Julien’s most consistent and historically significant estates. Along with Château Langoa Barton, it has helped define a more structured, Pauillac-like interpretation of Saint-Julien, earning enduring respect among Bordeaux enthusiasts.
