Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a deep plum-garnet colour, reflecting its maturity while still retaining real presence. The bouquet is expressive and layered, opening with smoke, charcoal, crème de cassis and floral notes, then unfolding into hints of mint and dark melted chocolate as it breathes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied but impressively deep, with supple, yielding tannins and a textured, almost Pomerol-like richness. The wine is rounded, fleshy and opulent, with a touch of the warmth and rustic charm that defined the 1990 vintage. It is ready to enjoy now, though the magnum format should help preserve its character for further cellaring in the near term.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This mature Saint-Julien pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck confit, game birds and dishes with earthy accompaniments such as mushrooms or truffle. Serve at 16–18°C and, if possible, decant gently for around 30–60 minutes to allow the aromas to open without losing the wine’s delicate older-vintage nuance.
