Château Léoville Poyferré 2018 is a standout Saint-Julien that captures everything collectors love about great Bordeaux: depth, precision, and remarkable balance. Widely praised as one of the estate’s finest modern vintages, it combines powerful concentration with an almost weightless elegance, making it a wine of real distinction and long-term cellar appeal.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a dense, dark purple colour that hints at its intensity. The nose is highly expressive, with layers of crème de cassis, violets, spring flowers, tobacco leaf, cedar, charcoal, and pencil shavings. On the palate, this is a deeply concentrated yet impeccably balanced Bordeaux, driven by ripe black fruit, firm tannins, and a sense of cool precision. The texture is powerful but refined, with freshness and energy carrying through to a very long finish. While already impressive, it has the structure and complexity to age beautifully for decades.

Viininvalmistus
The wine is crafted from a classic Bordeaux blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Château Léoville Poyferré’s vineyards in Saint-Julien benefit from the gravelly terroir that is ideal for producing structured, aromatic, and age-worthy wines. The 2018 vintage was assembled with great care to preserve ripeness, purity, and balance, resulting in a wine of both power and finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for classic dishes such as ribeye steak, roast lamb, duck breast, beef short ribs, or game with rich sauces. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for at least one to two hours is recommended if drinking young.
