Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré 2015 Magnum is the second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré, offering a taste of Saint-Julien’s pedigree at a more approachable level. Made from younger vines on the estate’s exceptional terroir, it captures the refinement, structure, and classic character that have made the château one of Bordeaux’s most respected names. The 2015 vintage brings both generous fruit and impressive aging potential.

In the glass, this Bordeaux red shows a deep, vibrant colour that hints at its concentration and balance. The nose opens with red forest berries, cherry, pepper, cigar box, and the earthy notes of forest floor, giving it a distinctly classic Left Bank profile. On the palate, it is driven by red berries, raspberry, cherry, and a touch of pomegranate, followed by tobacco and black pepper. The wine is already enjoyable on release, yet it has the structure and freshness to develop gracefully over 10–15 years, gaining further complexity with time.

Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré comes from younger vines on Château Léoville Poyferré’s vineyards in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, drawing on the same outstanding terroir as the grand vin. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot reflects the estate’s classic approach, combining structure, aromatics, and depth. While specific vinification details are not provided, the wine is crafted to preserve freshness, purity of fruit, and the elegant style of the château.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game, and mushroom-based dishes, as well as hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best balance of fruit and structure. Decanting for about 1 hour is recommended if enjoying it young, especially from magnum, to allow the aromas to fully open.
