Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion is located in Pessac-Léognan, where the gravelly soils and Bordeaux climate help shape wines with both freshness and structure. The 2022 blend is unusual for the Left Bank, with Cabernet Franc playing the dominant role, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Around 70% of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters, adding aromatic lift, texture, and complexity, followed by a long maceration. The wine was then aged for nearly two years in a combination of new oak barrels, large foudres, and amphorae, creating a layered style that balances power with finesse.

This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roasted lamb, duck breast, venison, beef fillet, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening it young to help the aromatic layers open up and soften the tannins.
