In the glass, the wine typically shows a deep ruby color with considerable concentration and youthful intensity, even as it begins to reveal the maturity of a great vintage. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, blackberry, subtle truffle, graphite, spice, and refined oak notes. On the palate, Château l'Évangile 2000 is rich and full-bodied, with silky tannins, generous fruit, and a beautifully textured, seamless feel. There is impressive complexity beneath the wine’s plush exterior, with notes of dark berries, cocoa, licorice, and earthy nuance unfolding across a long finish. Viininvalmistus
The estate’s vineyards in Pomerol cover around 14 hectares and are planted mainly to Merlot and Cabernet Franc, a classic combination for the appellation. The terroir is carefully tended with a strong emphasis on sustainability and respect for the land, helping preserve the purity and character of the fruit. Grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted before fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks to protect aroma and freshness, followed by maturation in new oak barrels to add depth, structure, and subtle complexity.

This wine pairs beautifully with elegant, flavor-rich dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, truffle risotto, or game birds. It also complements mushroom-based dishes and aged hard cheeses very well. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 to 2 hours if drinking now to allow the aromas and texture to open fully.
