Château Malescot St.-Exupéry 2018 is a beautifully composed Margaux, combining classic Bordeaux refinement with impressive depth and generosity. Built on a core of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and supporting Bordeaux varieties, it delivers both structure and sensuality — a style that has made Malescot one of the appellation’s most characterful estates. This is a wine that reflects the noble tradition of Margaux while showing the richness and polish that define the 2018 vintage.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, concentrated ruby hue that hints at its ripe fruit profile and serious structure. The nose is expressive and layered, opening with blackcurrant, dark cherry, violet, graphite, and cedar, followed by evolving notes of mocha, tobacco, dark chocolate, and dried rose petals with air. The palate is plush yet focused, with a velvety texture, ripe fine-grained tannins, and a juicy dark berry core wrapped in a cool mineral frame. It feels both powerful and elegant, finishing long and fresh with classic Margaux finesse. While already appealing in youth, it has the structure and balance to age gracefully for at least another decade, and likely longer under ideal cellaring conditions.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from the gravelly soils around the village of Margaux, where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives and contributes the wine’s backbone and aromatic precision. The fruit is harvested with care from selected parcels, then vinified in stainless steel tanks with an extended maceration to build colour, flavour, and structure. After fermentation, the wine is aged for around 16 months in French oak barrels, up to 80% new, with regular racking and minimal filtration to preserve purity and balance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Margaux pairs especially well with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffle. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine’s aromas and structure to fully open.
