Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2000 is one of Pauillac’s most seductive and complete wines, combining depth, perfume, and remarkable finesse. Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, saturated ruby-purple color that hints at its concentration and maturity. The bouquet is layered and expressive, opening with blackcurrant, plum, violets, cedar, tobacco, espresso, and graphite, then moving into more savory notes of tapenade, truffle, roasted herbs, and damp earth. The palate is full-bodied, rich, and beautifully textured, with ripe dark fruit wrapped around polished tannins and impressive inner energy. Despite its opulent style, it retains enough structure and freshness to age gracefully, and the 2000 vintage has the concentration to continue evolving with nuance over many years.

Viininvalmistus
The estate is located in the southern part of Pauillac, close to the Gironde estuary, where deep gravel soils provide excellent drainage and help Cabernet Sauvignon reach full expression. The vineyard holdings span a privileged site near Château Latour, with parcels also in Saint-Julien that are vinified as Pauillac for historical reasons. The grapes are harvested parcel by parcel, and the modern cellar allows each plot to be vinified separately for greater precision and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, venison, or rich mushroom dishes, especially anything with truffle or a wine reduction. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended if opened now to help the aromatics unfold and soften the tannins.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has a distinguished history dating back to 1689, later divided into separate estates after the death of Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville in the mid-19th century. The Comtesse de Lalande side became renowned for its elegant, almost voluptuous style, and was elevated to Second Growth status in the 1855 classification. Under May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, the property gained renewed prestige through major investments, vineyard expansion, and critically acclaimed wines, and it remains one of Pauillac’s most admired names.
