Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep purple-garnet color with impressive concentration and youthful intensity for its age. The bouquet is rich and layered, unfolding with notes of crème de cassis, mocha, coffee, dark chocolate, bay leaf, tobacco, and a subtle meaty, savory edge. On the palate, it is full-bodied and luxuriously textured, with ripe black fruit wrapped in finely integrated tannins and a long, polished finish. The wine’s signature style is generous yet refined, with floral lift and hints of pencil lead, cigar box, and truffle adding complexity. Thanks to the magnum format, it has excellent aging potential and should continue evolving gracefully for many more years.

Viininvalmistus
The estate’s vineyards lie on deep gravel soils in the southern part of Pauillac, close to the Gironde estuary, with Château Latour as a notable neighbor. The terroir is particularly well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, while Merlot and Cabernet Franc contribute roundness and aromatic detail. The grapes are typically harvested parcel by parcel to preserve freshness and the distinctive character of each plot, then vinified separately in modern cellar facilities to allow precise blending. The result is a wine that reflects both the power of the Médoc and the estate’s more supple, fragrant signature.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural partner for classic dishes such as ribeye, roast lamb, beef Wellington, duck breast, or game with rich sauces. It also pairs wonderfully with truffle-infused dishes, mushroom risotto, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking now to fully open the bouquet and soften the tannins.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande dates back to 1689 and became one half of the original Pichon estate after the property was divided in the 1850s. Classified as a Second Growth in 1855, it has long been regarded as one of Pauillac’s most graceful and seductive estates, known for producing wines with a more polished, almost feminine style than many of its neighbors. Under the direction of Madame May-Eliane de Lencquesaing, the château gained international acclaim, and since its sale to the Rouzaud family in 2007, it has continued to benefit from major investment and a modernized cellar.
