Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry 2019 is the estate’s flagship wine, sourced from the highest and steepest parcels in Stags Leap District. Built from an exceptional low-yielding terroir and crafted with only the finest fruit, it stands out for its precision, elegance, and depth, reflecting one of Napa Valley’s most respected producers. Often regarded as one of the most distinctive sites in Napa, Poetry Vineyard sits on the slopes above Yountville and has earned a reputation for producing wines of remarkable structure and finesse. Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine is dark, dense, and deeply colored, hinting at its concentration before the first sip. The nose opens with blackcurrant, blueberry compote, dried rosemary, graphite, and mocha, layered with subtle floral and savory tones. The palate is concentrated yet velvety, showing dark chocolate, violet, cedar, and ripe plum wrapped around a powerful but graceful frame. Fine tannins and a fresh, chalky mineral line keep everything in balance, leading to a long, lingering finish. This is a wine with excellent aging potential and will continue to develop complexity over many years in the cellar.

Poetry Vineyard’s steep hillside parcels in Stags Leap District provide an intensely expressive terroir with naturally low yields, helping concentrate flavor and structure in the fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified parcel by parcel to preserve the character of each block and to allow for precise blending decisions. The 2019 vintage is composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot depending on the year’s conditions. Aging takes place for around 22 months in 100% new French oak, while winemaker Christopher Tynan uses a low-intervention approach and controlled extraction to highlight the wine’s layered depth without overpowering its natural elegance.

This wine is a natural match for premium cuts of beef, roasted lamb, venison, and richly flavored dishes like truffle pasta or wild mushroom risotto. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours if opening young, as it will benefit from air to раскры its full aromatic range and soften its tannins.
