Cliff Lede Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District 2019 is anything but a “basic” Cabernet. Drawn from some of the most respected sites in Stags Leap District and built with a classic Napa blend, it shows the polish, depth, and precision that have made this AVA so celebrated. Aged for 21 months in French oak, it combines power and finesse in a style that invites early enjoyment but has the structure to age beautifully.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a deep, dark ruby-purple color that hints at its concentration and richness. The nose is lifted and expressive, with aromas of spring flowers, blackcurrant, smoked cardamom, cinnamon, and licorice, unfolding further with time in the glass. On the palate, it is lush and layered, with ripe plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, and prunes supported by notes of anise, vanilla, a touch of green pepper, and dark chocolate. The oak is beautifully integrated, adding texture and complexity without overpowering the fruit. Firm tannins and vibrant structure suggest excellent aging potential over the next 8–10 years, or longer in a good cellar.

Viininvalmistus
This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from prime vineyard sources in the Stags Leap District, including Poetry Vineyard, Twin Peaks Vineyard, and neighboring sites within one of Napa Valley’s most distinctive terroirs. The district is known for its volcanic soils, excellent drainage, and the cooling influence that helps preserve freshness and aromatic lift in the fruit. The blend is composed of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petite Verdot. After harvest, the wine spent 21 months maturing in French oak barrels, 75% of which were new, giving it added depth, structure, and spice.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs, or dishes with mushroom and truffle accents. It also works well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young, to allow the aromatics and tannins to fully open.
