Clos du Caillou Le Clos du Caillou 2000 is a mature, classic Rhône red that shows the supple, expressive side of Grenache at its best. From the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape area, this vintage offers the kind of peppery spice, sun-ripened fruit and regional character that have made the appellation one of France’s most admired.

Makuprofiili
The wine shows a polished, evolved profile with a garnet-hued appearance typical of a well-aged Grenache-based red. On the nose, it opens with sweet cherry and raspberry fruit layered with pepper, Asian spice and dried herbes de Provence, giving it a distinctly southern Rhône aromatic signature. The palate is balanced and supple, with a rounded texture and mature fruit framed by warming spice and savoury herbal notes. Robert Parker described it as drinking at its point, suggesting the wine is at a very flattering stage now, though well-stored bottles may still offer a little graceful development.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with herb-roasted lamb, duck breast, game birds, grilled mushrooms or Provençal dishes with tomato, garlic and thyme. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decanting for 30-45 minutes is recommended if the bottle has been carefully cellared, to help the aromatics fully open.
