Clos Martinet 2021

Clos Martinet 2021 is a benchmark red from Priorat DOCa, crafted by the acclaimed Mas Martinet estate. Built on a classic blend of Garnacha and Cariñena, with Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon adding depth and nuance, it captures the dramatic character of Priorat’s steep slate soils in a wine of power, finesse, and unmistakable regional identity.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Clos Martinet 2021 shows a deep, concentrated color that hints at its richness and structure. The nose is layered with blackcurrant, ripe cherry, warm spice, and a subtle mineral note that reflects the slate-driven terroir of Priorat. The palate is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with dense dark fruit, polished tannins, and a lively acidity that keeps the wine fresh and focused. French oak adds a gentle toasted edge and extra complexity without overpowering the fruit. Already enjoyable now, this vintage also has excellent aging potential and should continue to evolve gracefully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes for Clos Martinet come from steep vineyards in Priorat, where old vines grow in rugged, low-yielding slate soils that give the wine its distinctive mineral backbone and intensity. Harvesting is carried out with care to preserve fruit quality, and the wine is vinified using modern techniques to capture both purity and structure. It is then aged in French oak barrels, which adds texture, spice, and subtle toast while supporting the wine’s natural concentration.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Clos Martinet 2021 pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as grilled lamb, beef short ribs, venison, mushroom risotto, or slow-cooked Mediterranean stews. Serve at 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromatics and structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if opened young, to help the wine open up and show its full complexity.
