Makuprofiili
In the glass, this 2004 shows a mature, fully developed profile with a refined, inviting depth. Expect dark cherry, dried herbs, leather, liquorice, and soft warm spice, all wrapped in a rounded, harmonious texture that feels more supple than in younger vintages. Mourvèdre brings backbone and a subtle wild, animal nuance, giving the wine extra dimension and a long, earthy finish. Now at a beautiful stage of maturity, it offers generous complexity and balance, with enough energy left to continue holding well in bottle.

Viininvalmistus
This cuvée comes from very old Grenache vines rooted in the hot, stony soils around La Crau, where the Rhône’s sun-drenched terroir encourages concentration and ripeness. Mourvèdre is sourced from deeper, cooler soils to provide structure and length, while the blend is handled with different vinification approaches to suit each grape’s character. Grenache is traditionally fermented in concrete to preserve purity, while Mourvèdre typically sees more extraction and partial ageing in wood before the final assemblage is matured in a combination of stainless steel and large oak casks to maintain freshness and balance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Ideal with rich, flavourful dishes such as lamb shoulder, slow-braised beef, game, duck confit, or herb-crusted roasted vegetables. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if opening now, especially to allow the mature aromas to fully unfold.
