Dal Forno Valpolicella 2003 Jeroboam is a powerful, intensely crafted expression from one of Veneto’s most respected producers. Made from 100% dried Corvina fruit and aged in new American oak, it stands apart for its concentration, structure, and remarkable depth. While Valpolicella is often known for freshness and approachability, Dal Forno has transformed the style into something far more ambitious and age-worthy.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this vintage shows a deep, dense ruby color, hinting at its concentration and power. The nose unfolds gradually with time, revealing layers of jammy dark fruit, chocolate, leather, coffee, and sweet spices, all wrapped in a still-youthful, tightly coiled character. On the palate, it is broad-shouldered and expansive, with ripe, generous fruit balancing the firm tannic structure of the hot 2003 vintage. The wine remains backward and unyielding in its youth, but its richness and extract promise excellent development with long cellaring. It is a wine built for patience, with an aging window that can stretch well into the next decade and beyond under proper storage.

Viininvalmistus
Sourced from the Veneto region, this Valpolicella reflects Dal Forno’s distinctive approach to the appellation, including the use of 100% dried grapes starting with the 2002 vintage. The drying process concentrates flavor and structure, while the wines are traditionally raised in 100% new American oak, contributing additional spice, texture, and polish. The result is a deeply extracted, long-lived wine that departs from the lighter regional norm.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine best paired with richly flavored dishes such as slow-braised beef, venison, lamb shanks, truffle-infused pasta, or mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C and consider decanting for 8–10 hours if drinking it young, as the wine needs substantial air to open fully and reveal its layered complexity.
