Dalle Valle Maya 2018 is one of Napa Valley’s true cult Cabernet-based wines, produced in tiny quantities and sourced from the estate’s best iron-rich plots. Iconic for its precision, power, and scarcity, it has earned repeated 100-point scores and a reputation as one of California’s most sought-after red wines.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the 2018 Maya shows a deep garnet-purple color that hints at its concentration and depth. The nose opens slowly, revealing fragrant earth, lavender, garrigue, Sichuan pepper, and layered dark fruit notes of wild blueberries, boysenberries, black raspberries, and blackcurrants, with a subtle undertone of iron ore. On the palate, it is full-bodied and unfolds in slow, seamless layers of black and blue fruit, lifted by mineral tension and a vibrant freshness. Firm yet beautifully ripe tannins give the wine structure and length, while the persistent ferrous finish suggests excellent aging potential over many years, and likely decades in a strong cellar.

Viininvalmistus
Maya Dalla Valle is drawn from the estate’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon parcels, with Cabernet Franc playing a supporting role in the blend. The vineyards are located in Napa Valley, on soils with a notably high iron content, which contributes to the wine’s distinctive mineral character and signature ferrous edge. Harvesting is carried out with extreme selection, and the wine is vinified in small lots to preserve site expression and the purity of the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine built for richly flavored dishes such as prime rib, ribeye steak, venison, lamb shoulder, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes. Serve at 16-18°C for the best balance of aromatic lift and structure, and consider decanting for 1-2 hours to allow the wine’s layered bouquet and fine tannins to fully open.
