Domaine de la Roche Aiguë Beaune 1er Cru Les Cras 2022 is a refined and expressive Pinot Noir from one of the house’s top red wine parcels. Sourced from the estate’s own plot on the premier cru site Les Cras, it combines elegance, charm, and impressive depth with the finesse Burgundy lovers look for. Crafted with care by winemaker Eric Guillemard, it also carries the added appeal of a wine that reflects both meticulous vineyard work and the character of a highly regarded Beaune terroir.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Beaune 1er Cru shows a polished, appealing style with plenty of aromatic detail. The nose opens with blackcurrant, blackberry, red cherry, red currant, black truffle, and a subtle touch of spice, giving it a layered and inviting profile. On the palate, dark fruit takes the lead, supported by remarkable roundness, intensity, and balance. It has the kind of depth and nuance that speaks to both quality fruit and careful élevage, with 12 months in a mix of new and used oak adding texture rather than overpowering the wine. While already enjoyable, it should gain even more complexity with 2-3 years of bottle age.

Viininvalmistus
The wine comes from the estate’s own parcel in the premier cru vineyard Les Cras in Beaune, an area known for producing structured yet elegant Pinot Noir with finesse and aromatic lift. The grapes were harvested and carefully sorted by hand to ensure only the best fruit made it into the wine. After pressing and fermentation, the juice was matured for 12 months in a combination of new and used barrels, allowing the wine to develop depth, texture, and subtle complexity while preserving its Burgundy character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roast duck, coq au vin, braised beef, game birds, mushroom dishes, or aged soft cheeses. Serve it at 16-18°C, and consider opening the bottle a little ahead of time to let the aromas unfold. Decanting is not essential, but a gentle decant can help if you want to soften the wine slightly in its youth.
