Domaine de la Roche Aiguë Les Clous Meursault 2022 is a beautifully crafted, classically styled Meursault that captures the richness and depth the appellation is known for. Sourced from the domaine’s own parcel in Les Clous, this Chardonnay benefits from a prime east-facing site and a thoughtful élevage that keeps the fruit in focus while adding subtle complexity.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a straw-yellow color with delicate green reflections. The nose is expressive and layered, opening with yellow plum, lemon zest, butter, brioche, roasted hazelnuts, white flowers, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, intense, and seductive, with impressive depth and a polished, generous texture. The oak influence is well integrated, supporting the fruit rather than overpowering it, which gives the wine both charm and balance. This is a Meursault with the concentration to develop further over the next several years, gaining even more nuance with bottle age.

Viininvalmistus
The Les Clous parcel sits high between the climats of Les Tillets and Les Vireuils, on an east-facing slope with limestone- and marl-rich soils that are ideally suited to Chardonnay. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, including careful sorting in the vineyard and cellar. For maturation, winemaker Eric Guillemard favors predominantly used barrels, allowing the wine to gain texture and complexity without letting the wood dominate the naturally expressive fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Meursault pairs wonderfully with rich seafood dishes such as steamed turbot, lobster, scallops, or butter-poached white fish, and it also works beautifully with roast chicken, creamy risotto, or dishes with hazelnut and mushroom accents. Serve it at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, but a short aeration can help the wine open up if enjoyed young.
