Sourced from iron-rich clay soils and crafted with a careful, hands-on approach, it delivers a dark, powerful expression of Pinot Noir that stays true to the village’s historic reputation for serious, age-worthy wines.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows the deep, dark profile you’d expect from Pommard, with aromas of ripe blackberries, blueberries, red currants, dark plums, and cherry stone. The palate echoes those dark-fruit notes with concentration and energy, supported by fine tannins that give the wine a complete and polished feel. This is a wine with clear aging potential, and it should gain added complexity and harmony with a few years in the cellar. The structure is already there, but time will soften the edges and reveal even more nuance.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Domaine de la Roche Aiguë’s own parcels in Pommard, where the iron-rich clay soils play an important role in shaping the wine’s dark, muscular character. Winemaker Eric Guillemard works the fruit with great respect for nature, using careful hand harvesting and manual sorting to preserve quality. The wine is then matured in a combination of new and used oak barrels, helping build depth while keeping the classic Pommard profile intact.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as roasted duck, beef, game birds, mushroom risotto, or slow-cooked lamb. Serve it slightly cool at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if drinking young to help the aromas open up and the structure soften.
