Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of Burgundy’s most celebrated names, and this 2003 assortment brings together some of its most iconic Pinot Noir expressions in one exceptional wooden case. Featuring wines from Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands Échézeaux and Échézeaux, it represents the very pinnacle of Côte de Nuits craftsmanship and rarity. With roots stretching back centuries, DRC is as much a piece of Burgundy history as it is a benchmark for fine wine.

This 2003 collection offers the unmistakable perfume and structure that define great Burgundy, though each vineyard imprint expresses itself differently. Expect a range of styles from the deep, concentrated power of La Tâche and Richebourg to the more graceful, silky elegance of Romanée-Saint-Vivant, all underpinned by the pure red-fruited precision of Pinot Noir. In the glass, these wines typically show refined color rather than density, with aromas of ripe cherry, wild strawberry, rose petal, earth, spice, and subtle oak. On the palate they can move from supple and velvety to intense and layered, with remarkable length and complexity. The best bottles from this vintage continue to age beautifully, developing savory depth, truffle notes, and a more seamless texture over time.

The wines come from some of the most prized vineyard parcels in Burgundy, where limestone-rich soils and perfectly positioned slopes in the Côte de Nuits create ideal conditions for Pinot Noir. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti farms its sites with a highly attentive, largely biodynamic approach, focusing on soil health, vine balance, and extremely low yields. Fruit is hand-harvested late, then carefully sorted twice to ensure only the best grapes are retained. Vinification is meticulous, with the wines aged for 16 to 18 months in new French oak barrels from François Frères before bottling. The result is a set of wines that combine purity, concentration, and precision, while still reflecting the individuality of each grand cru and premier cru site in the assortment.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
These wines are best paired with refined dishes that can match their depth and complexity, such as roast duck, game birds, venison, truffle risotto, wild mushroom dishes, or lamb prepared with herbs. Serve at around 16–18°C to allow the aromatics to open fully. Decanting is recommended for younger bottles or more structured wines, but a gentle approach is best to preserve the nuance and perfume.
