Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 2009 is one of Burgundy’s most coveted wines, drawn from a legendary Grand Cru vineyard in Vosne-Romanée. Produced by the benchmark estate often called the “King of Burgundy,” this Pinot Noir combines rarity, intensity, and remarkable precision in a way that few wines anywhere in the world can match. Chalky, fine-grained tannins frame a deep, multidimensional core of ripe fruit, mineral tension, and succulent acidity, leading to a long, fragrant finish. La Tâche comes from one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, planted on a terroir that delivers both power and aromatic detail. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti farms its holdings with meticulous care, using organic principles and select biodynamic-inspired practices, while keeping intervention in the cellar to a minimum. All grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted upon arrival, and fermented traditionally in large old wooden vats before aging in new oak barrels for around 16 to 18 months.

This is a wine best paired with refined dishes that can match its depth and perfume, such as roast duck, game birds, lamb, truffle-infused dishes, or aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for an hour or two if the bottle is young, though extended aeration should be handled gently to preserve its elegance.
