Domaine des Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon Milly-Lamartine 2016 Magnum is a refined white Burgundy that shows just how expressive Chardonnay from the Mâconnais can be. The magnum format gives this already balanced wine an added sense of poise and slower evolution, allowing its freshness, minerality, and depth to unfold beautifully over time.

In the glass, this Chardonnay offers a bright, polished appearance that hints at its elegance and maturity. The nose opens with ripe yellow fruit, citrus zest, and white flowers, layered with subtle notes of toasted almonds and a delicate hint of buttery richness. On the palate, the wine is precise and energetic, with a lively line of acidity supporting its concentrated fruit and mineral core. The finish is long, clean, and refreshing, making it a wine that can be enjoyed now while still having the structure to develop further with a few more years of bottle age, especially in magnum.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from high-altitude parcels in the Mâconnais, where limestone-rich soils contribute to the wine’s marked minerality and vibrant acidity. Harvesting is carried out with care to preserve the purity of the fruit, and the wine is vinified according to biodynamic principles with natural fermentation to retain an authentic sense of place. It is then aged partly in stainless steel and partly in used oak barrels, balancing freshness, texture, and subtle complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with fish, shellfish, roast chicken, and other poultry dishes, as well as creamy but not overly rich preparations. Serve it chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider brief decanting if opening while still youthful to help the aromas open up.
