Domaine des Terres de Velle Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay 2022 offers a striking glimpse into some of Burgundy’s most coveted terroirs, blending fruit from Meursault with parcels on the edge of Puligny-Montrachet. Produced in very limited quantity, this wine combines precision, richness, and finesse in a style that feels far more elevated than its appellation might suggest.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a bright, polished profile with the depth and concentration expected from mature Burgundy fruit. The nose opens with ripe peach and melon, lifted by a subtle, refined oak note that adds complexity without overpowering the wine’s fruit-driven core. On the palate, it is rich and layered, yet remains focused and fresh, with a precise structure that carries the flavours into a long, elegant finish. The oak is beautifully integrated in the background, while the wine’s natural fullness and balance suggest it can develop further over the next few years, gaining even more complexity with time.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes from three small parcels: one in Meursault and two situated on the border of Puligny-Montrachet, giving the wine access to highly regarded limestone-rich Burgundy terroir. The grapes are harvested in very small quantities, with only around 6,000 bottles produced. Fermentation and malolactic conversion take place naturally in tank, and the wine is then matured for 12 months in oak barrels, with only 10% new oak used to preserve the clarity of the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay is an excellent match for lighter poultry dishes such as chicken or rabbit, as well as creamy sauces, roasted fish, or fine-shellfish preparations. Serve it at around 10-12°C, and while decanting is not essential, a short airing can help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
