Domaine des Terres de Velle Meursault Premier Cru Les Charmes Blanc 2020 Magnum is a beautifully rare expression of Premier Cru Burgundy, sourced from a tiny 0.1644-hectare parcel that yields just 300 magnums. With vines planted in 1936 and a site in the lower part of Les Charmes, this is a wine of depth, concentration, and remarkable balance, shaped by both old-vine character and an outstanding terroir.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows the classic golden hue of mature, premium Chardonnay, with an inviting richness that hints at its barrel ageing. The nose opens with layered aromas of peach and apricot, followed by subtle smoky notes from oak and a precise mineral thread that keeps everything lifted and refined. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and generous, yet maintains a fresh, vibrant edge that gives structure and drive. The fruit is ripe and complex, the texture is supple and mouth-coating, and the finish is long and elegant. This is a white Burgundy with excellent ageing potential, and it should continue to develop additional nuance over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from a minuscule parcel in the lower section of Les Charmes, a part of Meursault known for producing wines with extra depth and intensity. The old vines, planted in 1936, contribute naturally low yields and greater concentration. Harvesting is done by hand, and both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in oak barrels, followed by up to 18 months of barrel ageing before bottling without filtration.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an exceptional match for fine fish dishes, especially those served with a rich, creamy, or butter-based sauce. It will also pair beautifully with lobster, scallops, roasted poultry, and refined dishes featuring mushrooms or truffle. Serve at around 10-12°C, and decanting is not essential but can be beneficial if the wine is opened young.
