Domaine des Terres de Velle Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Referts Blanc 2018 Magnum is a rare and impressive expression of one of Puligny-Montrachet’s most sought-after terroirs. Produced in tiny quantities from just 0.12 hectares, this magnum offers both exclusivity and depth, with the 2018 vintage bringing generous richness and concentration.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a luminous, polished gold color that hints at its richness and élevage. The nose opens with layers of nectarine, ripe red apple, citrus, toasted almond, and brioche, all lifted by the subtle complexity of oak. On the palate, it is broad, dense, and intensely flavored, with ripe fruit framed by creamy texture and a fine mineral drive. The oak influence adds depth rather than distraction, and the finish is long, compact, and classically Puligny in its precision. With time in bottle, it should continue to gain nuance and harmony.

Viininvalmistus
Les Referts Premier Cru sits on the edge of Meursault, next to Les Perrières, on one of the finest slopes in Burgundy. Domaine des Terres de Velle owns only 0.12 hectares here, resulting in an extremely limited annual production of around 750 bottles. The wine is made in a traditional style, with fermentation and aging in oak barrels, including about 40% new oak, for up to 18 months before bottling without filtration.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a superb match for grilled turbot with beurre blanc, and it will also shine alongside lobster, roasted poultry with cream sauce, or refined seafood dishes. Serve at 10–12°C, and consider decanting briefly if opened young to allow the wine’s aromatics and texture to open fully.
