Sourced from a tiny 0.12-hectare parcel on the edge of Meursault, next to Les Perrières, this rare wine offers remarkable depth, precision, and the kind of elegance that has made Puligny-Montrachet legendary.

In the glass, the wine shows a luminous, golden hue that hints at its concentration and class. The nose is layered and expressive, with notes of nectarine, ripe red apple, citrus, almond, and brioche, all lifted by subtle oak complexity. On the palate, it is dense yet refined, combining ripe fruit, fine mineral tension, and a creamy, textured mid-palate. The oak is present but well integrated, adding depth rather than weight, while the finish is long, focused, and intensely persistent. This is a wine built for graceful aging and should develop beautifully over the coming years.

Les Referts is a Premier Cru vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet, positioned on the prized upper slopes of the Côte de Beaune at the border with Meursault. Domaine des Terres de Velle owns just 0.12 hectares here, resulting in an extremely limited annual production of around 750 bottles. The wine is made in a traditional Burgundian style, with fermentation and maturation in oak barrels, including about 40% new oak, and aged for up to 18 months before bottling unfiltered.

This wine is an excellent match for grilled turbot with beurre blanc, where its richness and acidity can complement the delicate fish and buttery sauce. Serve it at around 10-12°C to best express its aromatic complexity and texture, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief aeration can help the wine open up if served young.
