Domaine Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet 1er Cru 2022 is a beautifully composed Chardonnay from one of Puligny’s most admired premier cru sites. It captures the warmth and generosity of the vintage while preserving the precision, mineral tension, and depth that define Sauzet’s style and the appellation’s great white wines.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a luminous pale gold colour. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe citrus, honeysuckle, delicate white flowers, and subtle roasted nut and toasted oak nuances adding complexity and breadth. The palate is concentrated and supple, yet kept beautifully focused by vivid acidity and a chalky, mineral spine. Ripe fruit and a textured, mouth-coating feel are balanced by freshness and drive, leading to a long, refined finish with lingering citrus, floral notes, and a fine spicy touch. This is a wine with clear ageing potential, and it should evolve gracefully over many years.

Champ Canet is a premier cru site in Puligny-Montrachet known for combining richness with a distinctive mineral energy, thanks to its limestone-rich terroir. The 2022 vintage benefited from a warm growing season that delivered ripe, generous fruit while retaining freshness. The wine is vinified in the domaine’s classic Burgundy style, with careful handling and barrel ageing that adds subtle toast and texture without obscuring the site’s purity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Ideal with refined dishes such as lobster, scallops, turbot, roast chicken with cream sauce, or veal with mushrooms. It also works beautifully with mature Comté, aged Gruyère, or dishes featuring truffle and buttery sauces. Serve at around 11–13°C, and decant briefly if desired when young to help it open up, though it can also be enjoyed directly from the bottle.
