It combines the character of Mercurey’s classic terroir with the depth and suppleness that only mature vines can provide, while still being crafted for enjoyable drinking early on.

In the glass, this wine shows the bright, appealing ruby tone typical of youthful Pinot Noir from Burgundy. The nose is expressive and fruit-driven, with aromas of fresh red berries layered over subtle oak spice and a gentle earthy nuance. The palate is generous and smooth, offering juicy fruit, a velvety texture, and a savory finish that gives the wine real charm. The old vines lend concentration and balance, while the 12 months in oak adds subtle structure without overpowering the fruit. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now, though it should gain a little more complexity over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from three Mercurey parcels with varied exposures and soils, contributing both freshness and depth to the final blend. The old vines provide naturally low yields and greater concentration, and the fruit is vinified with a focus on preserving purity and balance. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, with around 20% new oak, before being bottled.

This Mercurey pairs beautifully with roast chicken, duck breast, mushroom dishes, veal, or grilled salmon. It also works well with soft-ripened cheeses and dishes featuring earthy ingredients like lentils or root vegetables. Serve at 15–17°C, and decanting is optional but can help open the wine if enjoyed in its youth.
