In the glass, the 2002 vintage shows a mature yet still vibrant ruby garnet color. The nose opens with dense cherry and dark berry fruit, followed by layers of forest floor, truffle, and a subtle leathery note that speaks to its evolution in bottle. On the palate, it is structured and robust, with tannins that remain present but have softened with time. Fresh acidity keeps the wine lively, while the finish is long and savory. Viininvalmistus
Clos de la Bussière is a walled monopole vineyard in Morey-St.-Denis, in the Côte de Nuits, planted on limestone and clay soils with a fair amount of stone and a favorable slope. The old vines are harvested by hand and carefully sorted, with vinification and extended aging in oak barrels under a moderate proportion of new oak, helping preserve concentration, structure, and the clear expression of the terroir.

This wine is a natural match for dishes that echo its earthy, savory profile, such as roasted duck, game birds, mushroom risotto, beef fillet, or braised lamb. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for about 30–60 minutes if opening now, especially to let its aromatic complexity fully emerge.
