Domaine Henri Richard Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Corvées 2019 is a refined and terroir-driven Pinot Noir from one of the most respected lieux-dits in the Côte de Nuits. Combining the freshness of altitude with the precision of limestone and clay soils, it offers both immediate charm and the depth expected from fine Burgundy.

In the glass, the wine shows a bright ruby-red colour that hints at its youthful energy and finesse. The nose opens with ripe cherry, red forest berries, delicate floral notes, and a subtle lift of herbs and green pepper, giving the aromatics both purity and complexity. On the palate, it is elegant and focused, with precise tannins, vibrant acidity, and a distinct mineral thread that carries through to a long, graceful finish. While already appealing with decanting, the wine has the structure and balance to develop beautifully over the next 5–8 years, gaining even more nuance and depth with time.

Viininvalmistus
The vineyards for Aux Corvées sit on limestone and clay slopes in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, where elevation and soil composition help produce wines with freshness, energy, and clear site expression. The grapes are vinified with natural fermentation in open concrete tanks and gentle whole-cluster or partially de-stemmed treatment to preserve the wine’s floral and fruit-driven character. It is then aged for 12–18 months in Burgundian oak barrels, with only a limited proportion of new oak, and bottled without fining or filtration to retain texture and depth.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with mushroom dishes, veal, light game, and mature cheeses, where its finesse and mineral backbone can complement rather than overpower the food. Serve at around 15–17°C, and consider decanting for an hour or so if opening it young to allow the aromatics and structure to open up fully.
