Domaine Hubert Lignier Morey St. Denis Trés Girad 2014

Domaine Hubert Lignier Morey-Saint-Denis Trés Girard 2014 is a beautifully composed Pinot Noir from one of the most respected names in the Côte de Nuits. Sourced from the small lieu-dit Trés Girard, just below Clos Sorbé in the southern part of Morey-Saint-Denis, it combines site-specific character with the depth and nuance that come from old vines.

The 2014 vintage shows a graceful, aromatic profile with a bright ruby colour and subtle depth in the glass. Fresh red and blue berry notes lead the nose, especially cherry and blueberry, layered with floral hints and a distinct mineral edge. On the palate, it is lively and balanced, with vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and a gently earthy undertone that adds structure and length. The texture has a slight rusticity typical of Morey-Saint-Denis, but the overall impression is one of charm, precision, and finesse. Enjoyable now for its harmony, it also has the potential to evolve beautifully over the next 10 to 15 years.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from the lieu-dit Trés Girard in the southern sector of Morey-Saint-Denis, a terroir known for producing Pinot Noir with both structure and perfume. The vines are around 40 years old, contributing concentration and complexity to the fruit. Vinification follows a traditional approach, with fermentation in open vats and ageing in French oak barrels, including a portion of new oak to add subtle vanilla and spice notes without overpowering the wine’s pure fruit character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
An excellent match for classic dishes such as beef, game, and roasted poultry, as well as mature cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C to let the aromatics and structure unfold fully. Decanting is recommended if drinking young, especially to soften the tannins and allow the wine’s floral and mineral nuances to emerge.
