Domaine Jean Claude Ramonet Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2003 is a mature white Burgundy that combines Grand Cru depth with the domain’s hallmark precision and restraint. From one of the Côte de Beaune’s most revered vineyard sites, this vintage shows the richness of the warm 2003 growing season while still reflecting Ramonet’s signature elegance, mineral drive, and remarkable sense of balance.

In the glass, this wine presents a golden, gently deepening hue that signals its maturity. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with ripe citrus, white flowers, and orchard fruit, before unfolding into nuanced notes of toasted nuts, warm spice, and subtle reduction. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a silky texture and a precise, focused line of acidity that keeps the wine beautifully balanced. Flavors of mature lemon peel, stone fruit, and hazelnut are carried by a long, saline, mineral finish with a distinct stony edge. Already beautifully evolved, it still has the structure to continue developing for years, gaining even more complexity and depth.

Chevalier-Montrachet is one of Burgundy’s most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards, known for its limestone-rich soils and exceptional drainage, which help produce wines of tension, finesse, and mineral clarity. Domaine Jean Claude Ramonet is known for careful vineyard work and thoughtful harvesting, selecting grapes at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness and site expression. In the cellar, the estate typically favors traditional vinification and measured oak use, allowing the character of the vineyard and vintage to remain at the forefront.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as lobster, roasted turbot, scallops, free-range chicken in a cream sauce, or morel mushrooms. It also works well with aged Comté or other nutty, hard cheeses. Serve at around 12-14°C, and decanting is recommended for about 30 to 60 minutes to help the wine open and reveal its full aromatic range.
