Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet’s Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2018 is a benchmark white Burgundy from one of the region’s most revered names. Crafted from Chardonnay in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, it combines rare pedigree, precision, and the unmistakable depth that has made Ramonet one of the great estates of Burgundy.

In the glass, this Grand Cru typically shows a luminous golden hue with remarkable clarity. The nose is layered and refined, with aromas of ripe citrus, white flowers, stone fruit, crushed nuts, subtle vanilla, and a distinct mineral edge that brings focus and tension. On the palate, it is powerful yet beautifully controlled, with a concentrated core of fruit balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, saline finish. The texture is silky and broad, but always lifted by precision and drive. While already impressive, Chevalier-Montrachet has the structure and depth to age gracefully for many years, gaining complexity, savoury nuance, and even greater harmony over time.

Viininvalmistus
Chevalier-Montrachet is one of Burgundy’s most esteemed Grand Cru vineyards, known for its limestone-rich soils and excellent drainage, which help produce wines of finesse, minerality, and tension. The 2018 vintage benefits from a warm growing season that delivered ripe fruit and generous texture, while careful harvesting and meticulous cellar work preserved freshness and balance. Ramonet is known for traditional, low-intervention vinification that lets the character of the vineyard remain at the forefront.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is an excellent match for lobster, langoustines, roasted turbot, creamy poultry dishes, and fine poultry or veal with rich but elegant sauces. It also pairs beautifully with truffle risotto, aged Comté, or other refined hard cheeses. Serve at 10–12°C, and decanting is optional for a young bottle but can help open the wine’s aromatic complexity if enjoyed early.

Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet traces its roots back to the late 1920s, when Pierre Ramonet began building what would become one of Burgundy’s legendary estates. A major turning point came with the acquisition of Clos Ruchottes in 1934, followed by Grand Cru holdings in Batard-Montrachet and Bienvenue-Batard-Montrachet in 1955, and later a prized parcel of Le Montrachet in 1978. Since 1984, Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet have carried the domaine forward, reinforcing its status as one of the most respected producers of white Burgundy, celebrated worldwide for precision, purity, and extraordinary terroir expression.
