In the glass, this Clos de Vougeot shows a deep ruby color with the polished clarity typical of fine Burgundy. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, balanced and refined, with layered fruit, supple tannins, and a harmonious finish. The grapes for this wine are hand-harvested, with 80-100% destemming depending on the vintage, ensuring careful selection and precision from the start. The wine is then matured for 16-20 months in oak barrels, with 60-100% new oak used depending on the year, adding complexity, texture, and subtle spice while preserving the character of the fruit. As a Grand Cru from Clos de Vougeot in Bourgogne, the wine reflects one of the region’s most prestigious terroirs, where meticulous vineyard work and traditional vinification are used to capture the identity of the site.

This wine pairs beautifully with roast duck, pigeon, game birds, beef tenderloin, lamb, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses. Serve it at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for 1-2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromas to open and the tannins to soften.
