Domaine Maillard Beaune Blanc ''Cuvee Jules'' 2022

Domaine Maillard Beaune Blanc Cuvée Jules is a refined Chardonnay from the vineyards surrounding the town of Beaune, an area often overlooked despite offering excellent quality and strong value. Crafted from hand-harvested fruit and matured for 15 months in the same barrels used for fermentation, it reflects the elegance and depth for which white Burgundy is prized.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Beaune Blanc shows a bright, polished appearance that hints at its freshness and structure. The nose opens with ripe fruit aromas of red apple, melon, and nectarine, giving the wine a generous and inviting profile. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a smooth texture and a clean, lingering finish. The ripe fruit character is balanced by freshness, making it enjoyable now, while its well-judged barrel ageing suggests it can also develop nicely over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from vineyards located around Beaune, where the local terroir is known for producing white wines of excellent quality and value. The fruit is harvested by hand and carefully sorted upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation takes place in barrel, followed by 15 months of ageing in the same casks, which adds depth, texture, and subtle complexity to the Chardonnay.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, and delicate white fish, where its ripe fruit and fresh finish complement the dish without overpowering it. Serve chilled at around 10-12°C, and decanting is not necessary unless you want to give the wine a little extra air to open up.
