Dominus Estate Othello 2013

Dominus Estate Othello 2013 is a polished and expressive red blend from the historic Napanook vineyard in Napa Valley, crafted to showcase the site’s character in a more approachable, youthful style. Built on a classic Bordeaux-inspired mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, it offers the structure and depth associated with Dominus, while remaining supple and inviting in its early years. The wine carries the pedigree of Christian Moueix’s Bordeaux tradition, translated into California with remarkable precision.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Othello 2013 shows an intense, bright black-red color. The nose is pure and refined, with aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, mocha, and a gentle touch of vanilla that adds subtle warmth without overpowering the fruit. On the palate, it is deep and full-bodied, with silky tannins and an elegant, expressive finish. The wine balances ripe dark fruit with freshness and finesse, making it immediately enjoyable while still having the structure to develop further over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Othello comes from the historic Napanook vineyard in California, a site known for its warm, dry microclimate and its ability to produce concentrated, characterful fruit. Harvest is carried out entirely by hand, with the sun-exposed side of the vineyard picked a few days earlier than the shaded side to ensure even ripeness. The grapes are sorted both manually and by optical sorting before fermentation, after which the wine spends 14 months in French oak barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, duck breast, or rich mushroom dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best expression of its fruit and structure. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to allow the aromas and tannins to open fully.

Othello was introduced as the more accessible second wine in the portfolio, giving wine lovers a chance to experience the Dominus style in a softer, earlier-drinking form.
