Dominus Estate Othello 2016

Dominus Estate Othello 2016 is the third wine of Dominus, sourced from the historic Napanook vineyard in Napa Valley. Crafted to express the character of its terroir in a more approachable style than Dominus and Napanook, it offers a refined, youthful take on a classic Bordeaux blend.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Othello shows an intense, bright dark red hue with blackish depth. The bouquet is pure and polished, unfolding with notes of cherry, blackcurrant, mocha, and a subtle touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is deep and full-bodied, with silky, supple tannins and an elegant, expressive finish. Its balance and immediate charm make it enjoyable now, while the structure and concentration suggest it can also evolve gracefully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Othello is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, blending classic Bordeaux varieties in a Napa Valley context. The grapes are hand-harvested, with sun-exposed fruit picked a few days earlier than grapes from the shaded side of the vineyard, and the fruit is sorted both manually and by optical sorting before fermentation. After vinification, the wine matures for 14 months in French oak barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for grilled or roasted beef, lamb, duck, game, and richly flavored dishes with herbs or mushroom sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1 hour if drinking young to let the wine fully open.
