Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Chardonnay 2022

Duckhorn Vineyards’ Napa Valley Chardonnay 2022 is a polished, crowd-pleasing expression of cool-climate California Chardonnay, sourced from some of the best vineyard sites in Napa Valley’s freshest pockets. With more than half the fruit coming from Los Carneros and the remainder carefully selected from four other appellations by winemaker Renée Ary, it combines purity, richness, and finesse in equal measure.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a bright, inviting character with ripe fruit at the core and a graceful oak frame. The nose opens with peach, citrus, pear, and mango, layered with notes of brioche and crème brûlée from barrel aging. The palate is smooth and rounded, with peach and pear leading the way, followed by hints of apricot, clove, and lemongrass. It feels generous without losing freshness, making it immediately appealing now, while still offering enough structure to develop a little further over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes from carefully selected vineyard sites in the coolest parts of Napa Valley, where the climate helps preserve freshness and balance in the grapes. Fermentation was carried out in classic French oak barrels with stirring of the lees, followed by maturation in French oak, 40% of it new, to build texture and depth while keeping the wine lifted and refined.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, lobster, creamy pasta, seared scallops, or rich vegetable dishes such as mushroom risotto. Serve chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and decanting is not necessary, though a few minutes in the glass will help the aromatics open up.
