Dugat-Py Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2013

Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2013 is a beautifully composed Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir that combines power, precision, and unmistakable Grand Cru finesse. Sourced from the upper parcels of Charmes-Chambertin, it reflects the depth of old vines grown in limestone and clay soils, with a style that balances concentration, elegance, and classic Burgundy character.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a graceful, mature ruby-garnet hue. The nose is layered and refined, offering dark cherry, forest floor, spice, and a subtle smoky note that speaks to both the vineyard and careful oak ageing. On the palate, it is silky yet structured, with fine, rounded tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, elegant finish. The fruit has developed beautifully with time, moving toward more tertiary complexity while retaining energy and definition. This Grand Cru is already expressive, but it still has the balance and depth to hold beautifully over further cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from the upper parcels of Charmes-Chambertin, where Dugat-Py works with old Pinot Noir vines rooted in limestone and clay soils that help deliver both concentration and finesse. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand with strict selection, then fermented in small open vats to preserve detail and authenticity. The wine is aged for around 18 months in new oak barrels, adding structure and subtle complexity without overwhelming the vineyard’s natural character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Grand Cru at around 16-18°C to show its aromatic detail and supple texture at their best. It pairs wonderfully with refined dishes such as roast duck, braised veal, game birds, mushroom risotto, or aged cheeses. Decanting for about 30-60 minutes is recommended if the wine is still youthful, though older bottles may only need a gentle splash or no decanting at all.
