Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin C53ur de Roy 2012 is a powerful and deeply expressive Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy's most revered villages. Drawn from old vines in Gevrey-Chambertin and aged in new oak, it combines concentration, structure, and striking intensity with the classic depth that has long made the commune famous.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this 2012 shows a mature, polished ruby-garnet color. The nose opens with dark cherry, dried fruit, truffle, forest floor, and a subtle layer of spice and oak, all woven together with impressive harmony. On the palate, it is dense yet balanced, with ripe fruit, savory complexity, and finely resolved tannins supported by lively acidity. The finish is long and energetic, with a distinctly classic Gevrey-Chambertin character. It is already beautifully integrated, but should continue to drink well for several more years.

Viininvalmistus
C53ur de Roy is made from an assortment of old parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin, where many of the vines are over a century old. The soils are classically Burgundian, with a mix of limestone and clay that lends both structure and depth to the wine. Dugat-Py farms at very low yields and uses traditional vinification with long maceration in open vats, followed by around 18 months' aging in new oak barrels.

This is a natural match for dishes with richness and depth, such as roast duck, beef fillet, game birds, braised lamb, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve at around 16-18 b0C, and consider decanting for about 1-2 hours if the bottle has been recently opened to allow the aromatic complexity to fully unfold.
