Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St. Jacques 2009 comes from one of the most esteemed 1er Cru parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin, where old vines are rooted in steep limestone and clay soils. Crafted with the precision that defines Dugat-Py, this is a Pinot Noir of depth, structure, and remarkable terroir expression, shaped by a warm vintage that brought extra ripeness without losing the vineyard’s mineral backbone.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, mature ruby hue with the slight garnet tones expected from a well-developed Burgundy. The bouquet unfolds with ripe cherry, forest floor, truffle, spice, and earthy mineral nuances, all layered with a subtle oak signature that has melted into the wine over time. On the palate, the 2009 vintage is generous and harmonious, with dark fruit, silky tannins, and a lively acidity that keeps everything fresh and focused. After more than a decade of aging, it has evolved into a wine of impressive balance and length, with a long, mineral-driven finish. While already beautifully resolved, it still has the structure to hold and develop further in the cellar.

Viininvalmistus
The Lavaux St. Jacques 1er Cru site is known for its steep exposure and chalk- and clay-rich soils, which give the wine its combination of power, finesse, and mineral tension. Dugat-Py works with very old vines and exceptionally low yields, harvesting entirely by hand with careful sorting to ensure only the best fruit reaches the cellar. Fermentation takes place in small open vats, and the wine is matured for around 18 months in new oak barrels, a regime that adds polish and complexity while preserving the character of the vineyard.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for roasted duck, game birds, beef fillet, venison, or rich mushroom dishes such as truffle risotto or braised porcini. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30–60 minutes if opened now, especially to allow the mature aromatics to fully раскрыться. Its refined tannins and savory depth also make it a strong partner for elegant, classic French cuisine.
