Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St. Jacques 2010 is a finely crafted Premier Cru Pinot Noir from one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most respected sites. Sourced from old vines in a parcel known for its limestone and clay soils, it combines power, precision, and striking minerality in a style that reflects both the terroir and Dugat-Py’s meticulous approach. Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows the graceful evolution expected from a well-aged Burgundy, with a deep garnet hue and subtle brick reflections at the rim. The nose opens with layered aromas of cherry, blackberry, forest floor, truffle, and warm spice, gradually revealing more tertiary complexity with air.
On the palate, it is elegant and composed, with dark fruit now softened into ripe cherry and black fruit notes, supported by silky tannins and a fresh line of acidity that keeps the wine lively. The finish is long, mineral, and refined, with excellent balance between intensity and finesse. While it is already in a highly enjoyable drinking window, the structure suggests it can continue to develop gracefully for a few more years.
Viininvalmistus
The Lavaux St. Jacques parcel lies within a highly regarded 1er Cru vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin, where old Pinot Noir vines grow in limestone and clay soils that naturally limit yields and encourage concentration. The grapes are harvested by hand with strict selection, then fermented in small open vats before spending around 18 months aging in new oak barrels. This careful, low-intervention approach preserves the site’s purity while adding depth, structure, and polish.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with dishes that match its depth and savory complexity, such as roast duck, game birds, beef tenderloin, wild mushroom risotto, or lamb with herbs. Serve at around 16–18°C to best express its aromatics and texture. Decanting is recommended for about 30–60 minutes, especially if opening while still relatively young in its evolution, though an older bottle should be handled more gently.
