Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2009

Dugat-Py Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2009 is a powerful and deeply expressive Burgundy from one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most revered Grand Cru sites. Crafted from old vines and shaped by a warm, generous vintage, it combines remarkable concentration, firm mineral structure, and the unmistakable precision that has made Dugat-Py such a respected name in Pinot Noir.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this 2009 Mazis-Chambertin shows a deep, mature color with a still-vibrant core that hints at its intensity. The nose unfolds with layered aromas of ripe cherry, black fruit, truffle, licorice, and smoke, followed by subtle earthy and mineral nuances. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and majestic, with a dense heart of dark fruit supported by silky yet present tannins and a lively spine of acidity. The finish is long, savory, and mineral-driven, showing both the richness of the vintage and the structure of the site. While already beautifully evolved, it still has the backbone to continue aging gracefully for several more years.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from the upper section of Mazis-Chambertin, where old vines grow in stony limestone and clay soils that naturally deliver firm structure and depth. Dugat-Py works with extremely low yields, harvesting carefully to preserve concentration, and vinifies the wine in small open vats with extended maceration before aging it for around 18 months in new oak barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for rich dishes such as roast duck, beef filet, venison, braised lamb, or mushroom-based cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening now, especially to allow the aromas and texture to fully open up.
