DuMOL Cabernet Sauvignon, Meteor 2019

DuMOL Cabernet Sauvignon Meteor 2019 is a strikingly elegant and powerful Napa Cabernet, shaped by the cool-climate precision of Coombsville and the depth that Cabernet needs to fully shine. Inspired by the classic character of great St. Julien, it combines intensity, finesse, and a distinctive sense of place, thanks in part to fruit from two separate parcels in the Meteor Vineyard. The result is a wine with real pedigree and plenty of cellar appeal.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a beautiful garnet-red color that hints at both concentration and freshness. The nose is layered and expressive, offering aromas of freshly picked blackberries, cassis, dried spices, pencil lead, tobacco, and earthy nuances. The palate is full-bodied and muscular, yet polished and balanced, with flavors of dark cherries, blackberries, boysenberries, cocoa, tobacco, and anise. The finish is long, savory, and compelling, inviting another sip. While already approachable, this 2019 vintage has the structure and depth to age gracefully for at least another 20 years.

Viininvalmistus
Meteor Vineyard sits in the cool Coombsville region of Napa Valley, where the climate allows Cabernet Sauvignon to develop ripe fruit character while maintaining freshness and elegance. Winemaker Andy Smith blends grapes from two different parcels within the vineyard to build complexity and a more distinctive final expression. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 55% of which were new, adding subtle spice, texture, and structure to the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, slow-braised short ribs, and dishes with mushrooms or truffle accents. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking now to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
