DuMOL Cabernet Sauvignon Meteor 2022

DuMOL Cabernet Sauvignon Meteor 2022 is a strikingly elegant and concentrated Napa Cabernet that channels the finesse of great St. Julien while retaining the power and depth of California. Sourced from the cool Coombsville area of Napa and shaped by fruit from two distinct vineyard parcels, it offers both precision and personality. With its balance of intensity, structure, and freshness, this is a serious Cabernet with real cellaring potential.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a beautiful garnet-red color that hints at its depth and class. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of freshly picked blackberries, cassis, dried spices, pencil shavings, tobacco, and earthy undertones. The palate is broad and muscular, yet refined, unfolding with dark cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, cocoa, tobacco, and a touch of anise. The finish is long, vibrant, and moreish, leaving you wanting another sip. While already drinkable, this wine is built to age gracefully and is expected to evolve positively for at least another 20 years.

Viininvalmistus
Meteor Vineyard sits in the cooler Coombsville region of Napa Valley, where the climate gives Cabernet Sauvignon the chance to ripen fully while preserving freshness and definition. Winemaker Andy Smith blends fruit from two separate parcels within the vineyard to create the wine’s distinctive character and complexity. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, 55% of which were new, contributing spice, polish, and structure.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, venison, or dishes with mushrooms and black truffle. Serve it at around 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromatics and structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to allow the wine to open fully.
